Apostle Duane A. McCoy
The Lord's anointed Apostle Duane A. McCoy is truly an anointed vessel. He is the Founder of World Evangelistic Crusades Intl. and Ceo of Holy Child Gospel which are both based out of Arizona "Valley of the Sun". Apostle McCoy is more than just a songwriter & producer, he is a true psalmist. He believes in writing songs that essentially glorifies the Lord. Ever since his born again experience at the age of seven, listening to gospel became a part of his life and daily walk with God. Artist such like Andre Crouch, The Hawkins family, Commissioned, The Winans, Bebe & Cece, John P. Kee, The Clark Sisters, Daryl Coley and a host of others were the kind of artist he greatly admired growing up.
Apostle McCoy is naturally gifted for music. He has an innovative and unique sound that cascades along the lines of the Jazz, (Neo) Soul, R&B and Pop. Apostle McCoy's musical background goes back as far he could remember. From a toddler he was told that whenever he would hear music he would find something to use as a pair of drumsticks and begin to tap away. His father noticing such went out and bought him a toy drumset. From there he began to develop his skills as a drummer. He played in many churches, all they way up to his early 20’s. Although he started out as a drummer he later gravitated over to the keyboard, the instrument that always interested him most.
In the year 2000, Apostle McCoy and His wife launched the record label called Holy Child Gospel. It was truly a step of faith but they did it. It was then that he began to work with various potential artists looking for the right act for the company. In 2002 Apostle McCoy and wife released the first album under their label that Apostle McCoy wrote but did not actually produce. The album didn't turn out to be the breakout hit that he had hoped for it to be, but however it did open up doors to learn the dos and the don'ts of the industry. Because it was always so challenging for Apostle McCoy to find producers to arrange his songs the way he desired, it consequently caused him to have to invest in his own studio, resulting in him realizing the musical gift that God had given him. It was then from there that he began producing his own music.
After seven years of perseverance "Holy Child Gospel", is moving forward under the hand of God’s prosperity. In 2007 they released the project entitled "The Messiah" performed by the artist Badiyah that both Apostle McCoy and Badiyah wrote. It solely features his production and introduces his innovative sound to the listeners. Unlike the first, this project it did quite well. It is nationally distributed by New Day Christian Distributors and is receiving air play on a national level...To God be the glory!
Today Apostle McCoy is keeping busy with two new projects that he's currently producing. No doubt Apostle Duane A. McCoy aka "Holy Child" is well on his way to a successful career in the gospel industry as a songwriter & producer.
